The collective made their debut at the 2022 FRINGE festival with their original double-bill production; ‘Wheatfield with Crows + Nuit D’Étoile’ combining Vincent Van Gogh and his artwork, with physicalised theatre and French art-song. The production proved to be a hit – with three sold-out shows and FRINGE weekly-award for ‘Best Musical + Theatre Production’. “‘The Motif Collective’ is a collaboration of musicians, performers, producers, and workers in the Perth art-industry looking to blur the lines between genres.
Its’ members share the same vision – or motif, if you will – to encourage creative ambition and adventurism within the Perth art-scene and to share original, emotive stories as real as the people telling them.”
