French horn - just to play one of the wolf parts in Peter and the Wolf!

Worst instrument failure on stage?

Dropping my flute and it breaking about 5 minutes before my final year 12 performance exam!

What is the oddest thing we would find in you instrument case?

Cigarette papers – necessary for getting spit out of my keys,
but I still feel guilty every time I have to go and buy a new packet.


What do you sing in the shower?

I’m not much of a shower singer,
but my boyfriend and I always sing ‘Cat Like Tread’ from Pirates of Penzance
when we’re in the kitchen cooking or doing the dishes

What do you like to eat before a performance?

Food before a performance = a sticky instrument….water only!

What is the most embarrassing thing we would find in your fridge?

Probably something that I bought once for a specific recipe
and then never used again and is now years past its expiry date….

What is a secret about you?

I spend my Sunday evenings at the ice rink curling
(that weird winter Olympic sport with the rocks and the brooms
– yes, you can do that in Australia!)

If you could only take one recording to a desert island what would it be?

Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker
(full ballet, 2005 release by the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House)

What is the hardest thing you have ever played?

Rachmaninov Symphony No.2 mvt 4
