Favourite 3 MetSO concerts?
My first concert when we played Dvorak’s New World Symphony – it was my first experience of playing in a symphony orchestra and was the moment I fell in love with it. (Nov. 2014)
The concert with Shuan Hern Lee when we played Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 3.
Chris Dragon’s last concert - the atmosphere both on stage and in the audience was incredibly moving.
Favourite MetSO moment? .
That moment in nearly every symphony we play when everyone’s perfectly in sync and suddenly the brass come in and amp up the sound.
It fills me with the most euphoric and infinite feeling.
I find it really hard to describe to non-musicians because there truly is nothing like it.

iv. Missy Higgins – Steer

This is really tough to answer -
but I can’t go past the Harry Potter soundtracks.

During one performance in High School I accidentally hit the conductor with my bow right at the end of the piece.
Thankfully she was very kind about it.
Best tip for overcoming stage fright/performance nerves.
Perform with friends - it’s less scary when you’re not alone.

find the music that truly makes you happy and play that.

The Hamilton Musical soundtrack.

When I’m driving – I blast the music and sing along at the top of my lungs.

What music most inspires you?
Any music with a story.
What musicians inspire you most and why?
BTS – despite a language and cultural barrier -
they’ve managed to spread their message of loving and speaking yourself with the whole world.
They’ve made so many people happy and I am very grateful to be one of those people.
What sound do you love?
The light pitter-patter of rain on a tin roof.
What sound do you hate?
The sound of a bow being caught on the bridge of a cello. It’s subtle but horrible.
