Kaining Wang
17 year old Kaining Wang started playing piano when he was just 5 years old. He has been very fortunate to learn from three of Perth’s greatest piano Masters; for many years he was under the tutelage of Yoon Sen Lee, then from late 2019 he studied with Jana Kovar, and most recently Kaining studies with Graeme Gilling (Chair of Keyboard Studies at the UWA Conservatorium of Music).
Kaining has obtained AMEB AMusA and LMusA Diplomas, Certificate of Performance and ATCL associate diplomas - in the subject of piano (since 2014).

First prize - International Chopin Piano Competition - 2018

In late 2021, Kaining was selected to attend the XI International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians, which is one of the most prestigious global music competitions, known for accepting only the best partcipants.

Top Prizes/ Performances in various recital and concerto sections in WA Pianists Competitions, South Suburban Eisteddfod, North of Perth Music Festival and Fremantle Eisteddfod since 2013

MetSO – Perth in 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2021.
Besides playing the piano, Kaining also plays the cello.
He is currently a Year 12 student at Hale School.
