Audrey Jarvis
Audrey Jarvis (14) is a student of Professor Paul Wright. She began playing the violin at age 5 and at age 11 made her solo debut with Perth Symphony Orchestra.
In 2022, aged 12, Audrey was a first-prize winner in international competitions such as Kings Peak International and Grand Prize Virtuoso, the latter culminating in a performance at Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
Also in 2022, Audrey performed as a soloist with Accademia d’Archi Arrigoni Orchestra in Italy as a selected participant of il Piccolo Violino Magico International violin competition. In September of that year, Audrey performed Saint-Saëns’ ‘Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso’ with Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra (MeTSO) as a selected Young Artist for 2022.
In 2023, Audrey performed Sarasate’s ‘Zigeunerweisen’ at Government House Ballroom as a MeTSO Young Artist and also in a private function raising funds for Ukraine. As a soloist with Fremantle Chamber Orchestra, Audrey performed the Bach E Major violin Concerto and the Vivaldi double violin Concerto with her former teacher, Margaret Blades.
Audrey is a passionate chamber musician who has won first prizes with her string quartet, along with performing at Melbourne Recital Centre as finalists in the 2022 national Strike a Chord competition and at the Perth Concert Hall in a benefit concert for the people of Ukraine.
Audrey was selected for the 2022 and 2023 Australian Chamber Orchestra Academy (ACO) and participated in the 2023 ACO programme in Sydney. She then attended the Australian Youth Orchestra’s (AYO) Young Symphonists programme in Bathurst, NSW and, in January 2024, the AYO National Music Camp in Adelaide. On her return from National Music Camp, she participated in the Cygnus Arioso String Orchestra Summer Concert.
Audrey plays on a modern Italian violin by Gaspar Borchardt whom she was delighted to meet in his workshop in Cremona.
